8 Ball Aitken www.8ballaitken.com 8 Ball Aitken performs uniquely Far North Queenslandic alt. country, blues & roots anthems -- contemporary honk, stomp, Aussie swamp tunes played on a big National guitar. This is a big sound from the deep north, straight out of the Mareeba Delta, all steamy and bouncing off the remnants of extinct volcanoes, booming through the canefields. 8 Ball rolls into your personal soundtrack, packing tripped-out wet tropics cowboy music from the roadside, roots music with balls.

My Fiction www.myspace.com/myfictionband The quintet formed early in 2007 when some members of former Brisbane art rockers Wipsnade Zoo re-grouped, found themselves a new rhythm section and locked themselves away in a defunct butcher's shop out in the sleepy suburbs of Brisbane. My Fiction are currently recording their debut EP at Black Box Studios with Jeff Lovejoy.
There is something urgent and edgy about My Fiction's songs that at times can be immediate, sharp and abrasive but also adventurous, warm and open. The lyrical content is drawn from many places, spanning from the busy streets of Tokyo to the seaside at Sandgate, from dark and mischievous romance, of course heartbreak, and the joy of riding a BMX in the Northern Suburbs.
My Fiction is - Sean Rigley (keyboards), Eric Robinson (vocals/guitar), James Laubscher (lead guitar), Mike Willmett (bass) and Danny Murphy (drums).

This Frozen Star www.myspace.com/thisfrozenstar This Frozen Star play indie rock with Frankenstein-like limbs of folk, blues, pop and psychedelia sewn on: A beautiful monster indeed. Armed with a healthy disrespect for authority and a modest amount of cash, the group have recorded an EP under the watchful ear of engineer Emerson Bavinton and are currently halfway through their first album. They have played enough live shows to know their way around a stage - and to be able to put in a reliably electrifying live performance.
